Nedkov Kocho

Biography

(Skopje, 1924 - Skopje, 18.10.2004)
He is a film director, screenplay writer and cameraman, a doyen of the Macedonian documentary.
He finished secondary school in his native city.
During the World War II, he worked in the cinema owned by his family. In 1948 he was employed in the "Filmsko" Film Company and soon after the same year of its founding he began to work for the “Vardar Film” Production Company where he stayed until his retirement.
Apart from documentaries, he took part in the realization of a few Macedonian feature films.
He is a winner of several awards and much recognition: The Silver medal for directing at the 23rd Yugoslav Documentary and Short Film Festival in Belgrade (1976) for the film "Kayak 75" as well as the "St. Clement of Ohrid" award in 1977 as the highest much recognition in the field of cultural and educative activities.
