Popovski Ante

(Lazaropole, 3.6.1931 - 2003)
He is a poet, translator and screenplay writer.
He graduated 1957 from the Faculty of Medicine and from 1958 he worked as a doctor in Debar.
In 1955 he published his first collection of poetry "Shinings" ("Odblesoci").
In 1963 he began to work in a Cultural Redaction of MRTV Skopje in Debar. In 1967 he was nominated for a vice president of the Republic Commission for cultural relations with abroad and in 1969 he became a member of the Executive council of Macedonia. In 1970 he was apointed as a Director of the NIP "Nova Macedonia" (Newspaper Publishing Co.), and from 1974 untill 1983 he was a Director of the "Vardar Film" Production Company.
He has published many collections of poetry. Also, he has written film screemplays.
He has been given many awards and much recognition among which are: the 11-th October, The Miladinovci Brothers Prize (for poetry) and others.
