Another year enriched with documentary production. 15 documentary film were shot, from which we shall separate the following: "Frozen Lake" and "Skopje, July 26, 1963", directed by Kocho Nedkov, "Macedonia 1942", directed by Branko Gapo, "For New Accomplishments" and "The Girls of Mali" directed by Dimitrie Osmanli (1964, at the Festival of Yugoslav Documentary and Short Films, in Belgrade, "Vardar Film" won the prize for the producer participating with its film "The Girls from Mali".), "Catastrophe, Sufferings, Hopes" (the film was a winner of a special prize, given by the Association of the German Film makers, awarded at the film festival in Leipzig, 1963). and "Vasilie Popovic-Cico" directed by Slavko Janevski, "The Echo of My Town", directed by Branko Mihajlovski and "Cultural Wealth in Ruins", directed by Dimitrie Osmanli. Also, the short fiction film was produced. It was "The Troubles of the Deceased K.K.", directed by Zdravko Velimirovic. The Jury of the Yugoslav Festival of Documentary and Short Films, held in Belgrade was given a Special Diploma to the first cinematographer in the Balkans - Milton Manaki, who was an honourable guest at the Festival. The catastrophic earthquake that struck Skopje on July 26, was the reason for the reduction in film production. After the earthquake, "Vardar Film" started producing newsreels again, so called "Skopski Reporter" ("Skopje's Reporter"). Only three issues were produced describing and recording the events immediately after the earthquake, taking away the ruins and rebuilding the city of Skopje. The Assembly of the city of Skopje gave "Vardar Film" "A Letter Expressing Gratitude" for its engagement for cinematographers and documentary recording of all the events related with the catastrophic earthquake and the reconstruction of Skopje. By the decision of the workers' Council of the company "Tehnofilm", dated May 13, 1963, this firm was united with the national Radio Television Skopje.
